Ethnological Study of Shasha, Qeshm Island

Abdalreza Dashtizadeh[1]

Native boats are one of the important aspects of the marine heritage of each region. The people of Qeshm Island, as the largest area in the Gulf of Fars, use native boats. Here, based on anthropologist interviews, a boat made from a palm tree stump is examined. Results of the survey of the knowledge of the boat's boat building, now depreciated, shows that its largest use was in coastal fishing. The boat was also used as a sailboat by islanders. Exploring the use of this boat is another topic in this article.
