Cultural values of organization: appropriate lever for selecting decision-making style

Decision making is an inseparable part in humans’ lives and organizations. The nature of decision-making originates from culture, and decisions are influenced by the motivations and objectives of a decision-maker who has different cultural values. Therefore, it makes managers use different decision-making styles. Since the decision-making style is a very important factor in the success and effectiveness of an organization, so the importance of values becomes clear in the decision-making process. In this regard, the aim of this research is determining the effectiveness of values on managers’ decision-making styles. For this purpose, first the theoretical bases of research and authorities’ analyses are reviewed and, then the role of intuitions, trust, and values in decision-making process and decision-making style is discussed and finaly attention to cultural values of organization can act as powerful lever for selecting appropriate decision-making style.
