Abstract
Reflection of social phenomena in literature and art, as single sources of representing social actions, can depict social conditions more vividly than historical and scientific texts, which are largely influenced by political and ethical considerations. Further, oral literature and audiotexts can reveal the hidden truth more than any written source. This can be best represented by a literature genre called Lyric especially lyrics of popular songs. One salient example is that of Nasrok.
Lyrics of Nasrok are among the most important texts of vocal music of Bandarabbas, which are the reflection of social and historical events from the late Qajar to the end of the first decade of second Pahlavi eria. This study utilizes descriptive, analytical, interpritive, and qualititavemethods for analyzing Nasrok’s lyrics in order to revisit the event at his time and exploreunknown aspects of his works. The results of study show that his lyrics reflect many social and historical events at the time which werealso documented sporadically in other contemperanoius texts. Representation of such events, though collocquaily, can lay the ground for further case studies on human and social issues of Bandarabbas as well as other parts of southern Iran.
